ABOUT ME

Filmmaker. Writer. Graphic designer. Actor. set dresser

Behrad is an Iranian‑Canadian actor, writer, and film director born in 1978 in Tehran. He holds a Diploma in Acting from Art University, a Diploma in Assistant director in Tehran, a B.A. in Applied Art from CKP College in Bangalore, and a Diploma in Film Production from InFocus Film School in Vancouver. He began his artistic journey on theatre stages, performing in both classical and contemporary works such as Hamlet, Othello, and a leading role in the production of Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh Carnival.

Alongside acting, Behrad developed skills in writing, and graphic design, which later shaped his approach as a theatre director in Tehran and connected him with a wide network of local and international artists. His conceptual photography project "Rozhano" and "White Frame" exploring natural forms in trees and street photography was exhibited in several group shows in India and in Tehran.

He has written and published a range of articles, stories, and dramatic works in Iran, India, Germany and Canada, including the book The Loosed Minimal: Cogito of Nizami Playwright, Art in Philosophy, Some words about The Shahnameh, A reflection of a man in a square.

In Vancouver, he continued his film studies, contributed articles to the Persian news outlet Shahrvand, and became involved in multiple film projects as both an actor, director and graphic designer. He is currently also working as a set dresser in the film industry.
